We had a good day with the children yesterday. They were especially excited because we told them that we were going to have a water balloon battle...and so we did! We nearly filled two trash bins with water balloons and placed them outside on opposite sides of the building. The girls ran to one and the boys to the other and the battle commenced. It's amazing how long it takes to fill so many water balloons and how quickly they are all used. Everyone had a great time and most got at least a little wet while others were soaked. By the end of the week, the children knew Romans 5:8-9 by heart and had heard the Gospel shared in many different ways which was reinforced by workbooks and take-home crafts to remind them of God's love and provision for them in Jesus Christ. We all have many fond memories of our time together.
Last night, we held our last Gospel service at the church in Naas. Ryan shared his testimony and Lucy, Sarah, Collin, Carl and Logan performed the 'Deal With It' drama. A family from Brazil performed the special music in Portugese and William (our local missionary) preached. They are here from Brazil learning English (yes, in Ireland) and hope to eventually go to Italy to learn Italian. They are involved in ministry in Brazil, but they have a heart to reach out to the world.
Today we are going into Dublin on the train for some fun and sightseeing. This evening we will return to the youth centre in Athy to review our parts for the church services tomorrow. There will be future updates from the team members. Time has been short the past couple of days so I've been posting updates from my host home. (Not everyone has that luxury.) Next week there should be more time since we don't have the extra travel time to Naas from Athy. Well, I'd better go wake up the guys so they can get ready for our trip to Dublin. Thank you so much for your prayers, encouragement and support! We appreciate all you have done for us and we are humbled.
