We Depart Today - 5 July

Well, our day of departure has finally arrived! Everyone has been busy packing bags and taking care of the last minute details and at 1:30 PM CDST we will all meet at Birmingham International Airport. Our flight departs for Atlanta at 3:45 and after a brief layover there we will depart for Dublin at 8:30 PM and arrive Friday morning at 9:20 AM local time (6 hours ahead of Birmingham time). Alasdair MacKenzie will join us there from Glasgow, Scotland and William Workman will pick us up at the airport to take us to Athy and then on to Galway. It will be nice to do something restful at the beginning to give everyone a little time to get over jet lag.

I (Kevin) should be able to post brief messages from my phone while we are in transit to let everyone know of our status and safe arrival. I can even post photos from my phone while we are state-side, but I'm not sure if it will work in Ireland. I'll give it a try and let you know.

After this post, I'll change the time stamp on the blog to reflect the local time in Ireland so you'll know what time of day we are posting relative to where we are. After the first day or two, we should be able to post to the blog daily. We will let different team members take turns writing the daily blog and we will add photos as we are able. Please feel free to add your comments in response to the postings. It is very encouraging to hear from home. Please pray for us and check back here often.
